Stencil Graffiti
A trend I have noticed lately is the use of stencils
to make graffiti, rather than free-hand-rattle-can or the
more traditional chalk or grease pencil.
It first came to my attention with the 'indecline' shown
in the first photo. You can find this one everywhere, and
no wonder--if you go to www.indecline.com they have the
design in two versions that you can download and cut your
own stencil. The big question is why?
Photo 2 was from another train car and features a woman
with 'man hands'. Strange.
3&4 I found on the street.
'Silence' from my 'Goodbye Ram' post is another one, freshly applied
on the sidewalk in front of TacoLand to honor the late Ram Ayala.
It seems to me that stencil graffiti is more like
advertising than art. Repeating the same design with only
the paint color for any variety, anyone can do it.
Still, I kind of like it even if I don't understand it.
Personally, I prefer to use chalk or a Sharpie.

No Good Deed Goes Unpunished
Usually when I do something nice for someone,
I get bit in the ass.
Yesterday someone else paid the price for
me being nice.
I let the pickup pull out into traffic.
He hit the car in front of me.
Her trunklid and taillight took a beating,
while his bumper got bent up.
And I learned to take the camera out of the bag as
soon as I get in the car, because I missed a good
shot of the vehicles mashed together.
And no, I don't feel guilty at all.

Goodbye Ram
A few nights ago some robbing pieces of shit shot and
killed Ram Ayala.
The 72-year-old owner of TacoLand was a friend to
bands, drunks, college kids and the homeless since the 1960s.
There was a benefit show tonight for his two wounded employees,
to help with their hospital bills.
Here's a look at the scene outside TacoLand today:

Whitetails With Big Balls
That's the kind of deer we have around here.
These are just a few of the ones I have spotted this week.
And I recently gave up on having rose bushes
in our front yard.
Every night there's as many as a dozen deer feeding in the area,
and our roses took a real beating.
I don't mind them being themselves and doing whatever it
is deer do, but they seem to be getting braver every year.
Or maybe just dumber.

Mmmm, Drinks!
Here's a studio-type image I just did on a whim.
I was about to crack open the bottle in this delightful
set I got for $7 at Costco, when I decided to put together a
quick photo for practice, and to record the pretty glassware
while the bottle was still full.
There are some major flaws because I was in a hurry.
Like the shadows behind the tumbler and the light
spilling all over the place.
But like I said, I was hurrying.
Because I really like whiskey.
Even this blended Canadian piss. (Just a joke, m!)
The glass isn't huge; the bottle is small.
So very very sad; it's almost gone.
(What are YOU drinking, Buz? Mmm, drimphs!)
Some people drink to get drunk, some for a social
lubricant.
I, on the other hand, drink to get a
social drunk lubricated.

Stinky Hand
At the King William Fair, I watched as this
guy walked up and offered a stranger's dog
some cold water.
It was very touching, but I was a little grossed-out.
I hate dog-breath and cat-breath, and if that guy's hand
was mine, I would wash it four times ASAP.
It has been explained to me that "puppy-breath is good", so
I must conclude that girls are weird sometimes.
