It's a very intriguing photograph - the shadow is just as strong a subject as the bee itself. Look at just the left half of the image, and it's still quite striking. I'm not sure I've ever seen a bee's shadow before.
(You have some skinny bugs down there. Where's the bee's thorax?)
The shadow has a thorax, so I assume the real bee does, too. Actually, it's leaning forward away from me so the head is mostly hidden, making it look like a two-segment bee instead of three.
